Acara penghargaan bagi insan musik, Grammy Awards ke-54 baru saja dihelat di  Staples Center, Los Angeles, Minggu malam, 12 Februari 2012 waktu setempat. Ajang Grammy Awards ke-54 menjadi milik penyanyi asal Inggris, Adele. Penyanyi berusia 23 tahun ini memborong enam piala dalam acara yang digelar di Los Angeles, Minggu malam, 12 Februari 2012 waktu setempat itu.

Adele malam itu  memborong enam penghargaan yaitu Record Of The Year, Album Of The Year, Song Of The Year, Best Pop Solo Performance, Best Pop Vocal Album, dan Best Short Form Music Video. Di kategori Album Of The Year, Adele sukses mengalahkan album 'Wasting Light' milik Foo Fighters, 'Born This Way' milik Lady Gaga, 'Doo-Wops & Hooligans' milik Bruno Mars, dan 'Loud' milik Rihanna. Tahun 2011 memang menjadi masa emas bagi sang penyanyi. asal Inggris ini.  Album milik Adele bertajuk '21' berhasil terjual lebih dari 6,3 juta copy di AS dan memecahkan berbagai rekor, termasuk bertahan di puncak album Billboard selama 19 pekan. 

Selain Adele, Foo Fighters juga menjadi salah satu jawara malam itu dengan membawa pulang lima piala, termasuk Best Rock Performance lewat lagu 'Walk'. "Ini adalah kehormatan besar karena rekaman ini adalah rekaman spesial bagi band kami. Dibandingkan pergi ke studio terbaik, kami justru membuatnya di garasi saya dengan beberapa mikrofon dan mesin perekam," ujar vokalis Foo Fighters Dave Grohl.

Sementara itu penyanyi muda Taylor Swift sukses menyabet piala Grammy untuk kategori Best Country Solo Performance dan Best Country Song lewat lagu 'Mean'. Penyanyi rap Nicki Minaj yang sebelumnya diunggulkan dalam kategori Best New Artist harus pulang dengan tangan hampa setelah piala tersebut diraih band indie beraliran folk, Bon Iver. Adapun Jay-Z dan Kanye West yang memenangkan Best Rap Performance berkat lagu 'Otis' tidak tampak hadir untuk menerima piala.
